Aldi Ireland is increasing its hourly pay rates for store colleagues from 1st February 2022 maintaining its position as Ireland’s best paying supermarket.

Ireland’s most reputable supermarket will pay all store assistants up to €14.90 an hour. Aldi will also pay a market leading entry rate of €12.90 an hour. Aldi’s new rates match the Living Wage Technical Group’s recommended living wage rate of €12.90 an hour.

Commenting, Niall O’Connor, Aldi Group Managing Director said: “The commitment and enthusiasm of our colleagues has driven our success over many years, particularly during the last 18 months when their efforts have been nothing short of heroic. Aldi has always offered the best pay in the supermarket sector and we want to ensure our colleagues are always fully rewarded for their amazing work.”

Aldi now has 149 stores throughout Ireland and recently pledged to invest €320 million over the next three years (2022-2024) in a bid to further accelerate its share of the Irish grocery market. The investment drive will see Aldi open 30 new stores across the country, building on the €1.6 billion it has already invested in its store and distribution network. In addition to this, Aldi will spend over €1 billion with Irish producers this year, an increase of almost 20% on 2020, including €250 million on Irish food and drink during the busy Christmas trading period.

To support this growth, Aldi is recruiting more than 600 permanent store-level positions next year. For further details on all opportunities with Aldi Ireland, please check out www.aldirecruitment.ie
