SPOIL YOUR MUM THIS MOTHER’S DAY WITH ALDI’S FINEST PINK GIN AND DELECTABLE SELECTION OF WINES

Aldi has you covered with a wide range of award-winning drinks to mark the occasion!

Mums go above and beyond all year round, so it’s only right that we take time to celebrate them and raise a glass to everything they do for us, on Mother’s Day! This year Aldi is making it easier than ever to spoil your mum with the perfect Mother’s Day tipple – look no further than their award-winning range of spirits and wines now available across 150 stores nationwide.

Delve into the world of pink gin with Boyle’s Raspberry Blush Irish Botanical Gin (€24.99) produced by Blackwater Distillery, Co. Waterford, distilled with raspberries and with hint of pink peppercorn it is available exclusively at Aldi.  Mo Chara Irish Pink Grapefruit Gin (€19.99) from Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan is a hit with gin lovers with naturally infused pink grapefruit giving it a unique pink colour. Greyson’s Premium Pink Gin (€20.71) remains a fan favourite and the Saoirse Irish Gin Alternative (€9.99) provides the perfect non-alcoholic option.

For the wine lovers among us, Aldi’s resident wine expert Tom Doorley has shared some top tips to consider when picking perfect option to impress this Mother’s Day:

“I have a feeling that Aldi’s Prosecco Frizzante is going to add fizz and glamour to Mother’s Day for a lot of people this year. It even has an unbeatable price of €6.49 (down from its usual €7.99) to mark the occasion. It’s dry, certainly, but not too dry and makes a great aperitif. A true crowd pleaser!

Next up I would suggest the deliciously different Assyrtiko from Greece, a white wine that’s brilliantly fresh and crisp – just the thing with a crab risotto or a good old-fashioned prawn cocktail. There’s also the fabulous Riesling from Germany: bone dry with a glorious mineral kick. Try this with a smoked salmon or perhaps a smoked mackerel pâté.

Aldi has a stunning Rosé from the south of France on shelves currently. It is so pretty and so versatile and will go with just about everything. My top tip would be to pair it with either a halloumi salad or duck breasts cooked a little bit pink. It’s also great with a few Sicilian Nocellara olives.

If a traditional roast lunch is on the cards and you plan on whipping up Aldi’s award winning, Bord Bia Assured Roast Beef, you can’t go wrong with the Specially Selected Clare Valley Shiraz – a stunner of an Australian red, packed with ripe plummy fruit and spice with toasty vanilla. Lamb would be a great partner for the Saint Chinian – especially if you’re seasoning it with rosemary or thyme, because this big red wine has a touch of Provence herbs to it.”

Additionally, Baileys Original Irish Cream will be making a much-anticipated appearance to the Aldi Specialbuy from the 20th of March just in time for Mother’s Day – a great gift for Mum!
