IRELAND’S JAMES RYAN SIGNS FOR THE ALDI PLAY RUGBY TEAM

Aldi has announced today the signing of Ireland rugby international James Ryan as their newest ambassador for the Aldi Play Rugby Programme. James joins rugby legend Paul O’Connell on the team, with Paul having worked with Aldi since Aldi’s partnership of the programme commenced in 2016.

James kicked off his role with a socially-distant delivery of Aldi Play Rugby training equipment to Scoil Maelruain, Old Bawn, Tallaght who will be among the primary schools participating in the programme with online support from the IRFU community rugby officers.

Today’s announcement underpins Aldi’s ongoing commitment to and support of the sport of rugby as the Official Fresh Food partner to the IRFU.

Speaking at today’s announcement, Aldi Group Buying Director John Curtin said:

“We are delighted to welcome James to our team. Through our ongoing relationship with the IRFU, we recognise the impact players such as James have on the children of today. In his dedication to his sport, his aim to be the best he can be he shows children of all ages – boys and girls, that they can dream big. We look forward to working with James in the years ahead and know that he will be a great addition to our team.”

From the rugby pitches of St. Michael’s College in Dublin to the hallowed turf of the Aviva Stadium, James has already earned 28 international caps for Ireland.
