ALDI, IRELAND’S NO. 1 OWN LABEL NAPPY SUPERMARKET, CELEBRATES DONATION OF 200,000 MAMIA NAPPIES TO IRISH MATERNITY HOSPITALS 

Since November 2020, ALDI has donated nappies from multi-award winning Mamia range to hospitals across Ireland

Today, ALDI celebrated the donation of 200,000 Mamia nappies to maternity hospitals nationwide. The milestone was marked at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin, which was the first hospital to partner with the retailer on this initiative. 

ALDI first introduced the initiative in November 2020, offering complimentary newborn nappies from the award-winning Mamia range to maternity hospitals nationwide. Since then, thousands of babies and their parents have received nappies, cementing ALDI’s commitment to supporting Irish families. 

ALDI has pledged to continue this partnership with Ireland’s maternity hospitals and hopes to grow it further.

Fiona Hanrahan, Director of Midwifery and Nursing at the Rotunda Hospital, said: “At the Rotunda Hospital, we welcome thousands of new babies each year. We are delighted to support them and their parents by offering them basic essentials to help them along during their stay with us. We are extraordinarily grateful to ALDI for their generous donations over the past two and half years and look forward to continuing this partnership in the months and years to come.”

The award-winning Mamia range is available in all 157 ALDI stores nationwide. It scooped multiple 

prizes at last year’s National Parenting Product Awards 2022, including Gold for Mamia Premium Newborn Mini Size 2 Nappies 60 Pack €2.65 in the Best Disposable Newborn Nappy category and Silver for Mamia Premium Newborn Size 1 Nappies 24 Pack €0.99 in the Best Baby Newborn Essential category. Additionally, ALDI was the most-awarded retailer at the awards, taking home 22 accolades across all categories.
