ALDI ANNOUNCES THE RETURN OF THE MIDDLE AISLE SPECIALBUYS- JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!

Amazing News! Aldi has announced today that Specialbuys will return to the middle aisle of all 145 stores nationwide from Tuesday, 1^st December

You’ll also be thrilled to hear that Aldi has extended products lines – customers will now be able to pick up Specialbuys three times a week for the first time ever. Leading up to the festive season, new items will be added every Tuesday, as well as the usual Thursday and Sunday drops in stores.  What’s more, Aldi has extended opening hours nationwide from December 18^th – full details below!

John Curtin, Group Buying Director at Aldi Ireland said today:

“We know that the return of Specialbuys will come as welcome news to our loyal customers throughout Ireland. Our hard-working staff will make sure that the shelves are fully stocked with all of the items you know and love to see in Aldi, as well as some new surprises over the festive season. So whether it’s a stocking filler, a kitchen gadget, a book or even a Christmas jumper for your dog, you’ll have plenty of time to pick these up before the big day on the 25^th December!”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

Aldi postponed the sale of all non-essential product Specialbuy promotions in October following the introduction of Level 5 COVID-19 restrictions.  Aldi has been fully supportive of the Government’s actions to combat COVID-19, and has been at the forefront of the retail response to the pandemic, keeping supply chains open and food supplies moving throughout.

Some dates for your diary:

• Tuesday, 1^st December: Kick off with Christmas Lights & Decorations, Plants and Children’s Toys.
• Thursday, 3^rd December: Treat your furry friends! This date will see Santa Paws gifts for Pets, Tech Gifting and Books to Cherish.
• Sunday, 6^th December: The return of Kevin! Kevin the Carrot Merchandise will be on sale, as well as Gifts for Beauty Lovers, Party Gifts and Gifts for Women.
• Tuesday, 8^th December: Treat the nostalgic person in your life with some 90’s Christmas Gifts, and stock up on Christmas Jumpers and Pyjamas for the festive season!
• Thursday, 10^th December: Stocking Fillers and Secret Santa Gifts, Festive Home Decorations and the long awaited Novelty Christmas Bedlinen are on sale.
• Sunday, 13^th December: Entertain the Family with Classic Board Games
• Tuesday, 15^th December: There is plenty of options to choose from or choose them all with  Gifts  for Kitchen Lovers, Gifts for Men and Warm Winter Gifts
• Thursday, 17^th December: Get cosy  and wrap up with Stylish Sleepwear and bedding, and deck out your car with Winter Weather Prep products!

Keep an eye out for further dates to be announced soon! For popular Specialbuy dates, and to ensure everyone gets a chance to get hold of these great value offers, a ticketing system will be in place at each store and a dedicated store marshal will manage customers’ queueing.

Safey measures at Aldi stores include:

• A traffic light system is in place which continuously counts the number of customers entering and exiting the store, showing a green light for capacity and a red light when capacity has been reached. This system, with your cooperation, enables us to ensure appropriate social distancing in the stores.
• Clear markers show the space customers must maintain if required to queue for a short time before entering the stores.
• Clear protective screens at every till.
• Clear markings to show the 2m distance you should maintain when paying for your shopping at the checkouts.
• A self-service cleaning station upon entry to stores for cleaning both trolleys and baskets.
• Hand sanitiser for customers at the entrance to stores.
• The transaction limit on contactless payments has been increased to up to €50.
