UDDERLY FANTASTIC! AUVIRO WINS NEW €3.3M CONTRACT WITH ALDI IRELAND

County Sligo-based co-op Aurivo has won a new €3.3M contract to supply fresh Irish milk to Aldi stores in Leinster and Ulster.

Under the new contract, Aurivo will provide seven product lines including 1l Milk, 1l Skimmed Milk Enriched with Vitamins, 1l Protein Milk and 1l Lactose Free Milk. The liquid milk products will be sold under Aldi’s Clonbawn own-brand. The milk will be 100% farmed and processed in Ireland, featuring the National Dairy Council logo on its
packaging.

Aurivo is the second largest liquid milk processor in the country and has partnered with Aldi since 2013, providing several dairy products including Aldi’s Kilkeely Gold Spreadable Butter 454g.

Aldi is committed to providing its customers with 100% Irish, NDC-approved milk across its store network. Aldi works with several liquid milk processors including Arrabawn Co-op, Strathroy and Lakeland Dairies.

Commenting on the announcement, Aldi Group Buying Director John Curtin said: “We are delighted to increase our business with Aurivo who will provide our customers with the high-quality, 100% Irish milk that they love. It has never been more important to Buy Irish and Aldi is committed to supporting its Irish suppliers”.

Seamus Hannon, Aurivo National Account Manager, commented: “Aurivo is delighted to enter into this new contract with Aldi. We have a long-term relationship with Aldi, supplying butter and spreads for many years and
we are delighted to expand this to our liquid milk business. The contract win will add to the continued success of our Consumer Foods business. We look forward to working closely with Aldi over the coming year.”
Aldi is committed to supporting its Irish supplier network. Working with over 330 Irish suppliers, Aldi recently announced it is extending its shorter payment terms for suppliers that transact up to €1 million worth of business annually until the end of 2021.

Aldi has also invested more than €3,000,000 in its Grow with Aldi supplier development programme since 2018, which provides an opportunity for small and medium Irish food and drink companies to gain a listing in Aldi’s 147 stores.
