ALDI ANNOUNCES OPENING HOURS FOR OCTOBER BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND

ALDI has announced when its 160 stores will be open over the upcoming October Bank Holiday weekend.

ALDI’s stores will be open as normal on Saturday 28^th and Sunday 29^th October, with stores open between 9am-9pm on Monday 30^th October. However, Monday opening times vary slightly at certain stores*, so customers should ensure that they check details on ALDI’s website before their trip. 

ALDI has everything customers need to make the Bank Holiday weekend amazing at unbeatable prices, including international award-winning Bord Bia Assured Irish steak range and affordable wine as well as tasty, sweet treats and party food for everyone to share this Halloween.

ALDI also offers a Click and Collect service in 20 stores, meaning shoppers will be able to purchase high-quality groceries online at unbeatable prices. Shoppers can visit the Click and Collect page to find all they need for an amazing long weekend, then drive to their local store where their shopping is brought to their car by ALDI store staff. Here are some saving tips ahead of the October Bank Holiday weekend to help shop smarter when doing your weekly food shop.

1. Look out for red stickers

All of ALDI’s 160 Irish stores mark down perishable products such as bread, meat and produce by 30% or 75% on their last day of life, with lots of products suitable for home freezing if you don’t want to eat them right away.

This initiative offers customers even lower prices while cutting back on waste.

The times that items are reduced vary by store and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to

keep an eye out for red stickers next time you’re in ALDI to avoid missing out.

2. Avail of a Too Good to Go ‘Surprise Bag’

ALDI works closely with its partner Too Good to Go to make surplus food bags available nationwide in a bid to tackle food waste and offer even lower prices to customers.

The ‘Surprise Bags’ contain a range of products that are approaching their sell-by or use-by dates at a third of the price, costing just €3.99 each to purchase. To avail of a Surprise Bag, shoppers can download the free Too Good To Go app and search for their nearby ALDI store before reserving a bag to collect from the store at an allotted time.

3. Look out for ALDI’s fantastic own-brand products

While it can be tempting to grab the brands you recognise, by ignoring own brands you might be missing out

on products that are a fraction of the price.

Most of the products at ALDI are own-brand, and we are proud to boast an award-winning range! Private label has become increasingly popular amongst Irish shoppers, with 220 products currently in ALDI’s Specially Selected core range.
