THE GUINNESS SIX NATIONS TROPHY IS HITTING THE ROAD – AND IT’S COMING TO AN ALDI NEAR YOU!

Limerick – Paul O’Connell to visit ALDI Castletroy on Monday May 8th

The excitement is real! As Fresh Food Partner of Irish Rugby, ALDI is delighted to announce that it will welcome the Guinness Six Nations and Triple Crown trophies to a select number of stores as part of a nationwide tour, including ALDI Castletroy, Limerick. Local rugby fans can drop by the store on Monday May 8th from 3pm – 4.30pm to get their photographs taken with the trophies and relive the excitement of Ireland’s historic Grand Slam victory. 

Paul O’Connell, Irish rugby legend and ALDI Rugby Ambassador, will also be in attendance at the event. A former captain for Munster, Ireland and the British and Irish Lions, O’Connell is now part of the Grand Slam-winning backroom team, serving as forwards coach for Ireland. 

And that’s not all! Customers who post a photo of themselves with the trophy and tag @aldi_ireland will be in with the chance of winning a €50 gift card to spend in their local ALDI store.

Since 2016, ALDI has served as the IRFU’s Official Fresh Food Partner. It has worked with the IRFU to develop ALDI Play Rugby, a national programme aimed at primary school children across Ireland that provides boys and girls with a fun, safe introduction to the sport. Additionally, the supermarket has introduced the ALDI Play Rugby Sticker Competition, which has seen prize money and sports kits distributed to primary schools across Ireland. 

To date, ALDI has invested more than €500k, illustrating its ongoing commitment to developing the sport of rugby and encouraging healthy habits among children. 

GalwayTour stopping by ALDI Oranmore, Co. Galway on Tuesday May 9th

DublinTour stopping off in ALDI Santry and ALDI Terenure on Wednesday May 10th

And that’s not all! Customers who post a photo of themselves with the trophy and tag @aldi_ireland will be in with the chance of winning a €50 gift card to spend in their local ALDI store.
