About Aldi’s Irish Wreath Suppliers:

Irish Green Guys are based in County Kerry and have been supplying Aldi with premium Christmas wreaths for over 10 years.

James Costello, Director of Irish Green Guys said:

“All foliage for the wreaths is grown on our farm in Kerry and is hand harvested in a sustainable manner, only harvesting the current year’s growth. The South West of Ireland has a high rainfall which promotes lush growth of fresh foliage which is perfect for the floral industry. Significant investment has been made in the last two years in planting more foliage which will allow us to grow the business as Aldi scales its operations in Ireland”.

About Aldi’s Irish Grown Christmas Tree Suppliers:

This is the second year running that Aldi has collaborated with Forest Fresh in Co. Tipperary to grow Norman Fir Trees for customers all over Ireland.

Patricia Denning, Director of Forest Fresh commented:

“We had detailed discussions with Aldi to ascertain their specific needs and target market and we have identified the perfect fit for Aldi’s Customers. We have complete responsibility from the planting of the trees through to delivery to store.  We pride ourselves on our top-quality Irish trees and efficient delivery service. We had very positive feedback last year and we look forward to a mutually successful Christmas 2020.”

Forest Fresh make ongoing investments in the maintenance, i.e. shaping and pruning of trees to ensure the perfect shape and size. They have increased investment in farm machinery specifically for the harvesting process.  The trees are grown across 158 hectares in their Tipperary and Wexford Farms, removing 1,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere per year and they employ 150 local people. The trees can be transported from field to store in 36 hours significantly reducing the carbon footprint and the trees are recyclable including all labelling, netting & pallets aiding with Aldi’s sustainability and impact on the environment.
